Building Redesign

This 19th century Westchester County home was moved up from a valley during the creation of the Croton reservoir system. After discovering severe structural fire damage, it required a near complete redesign; essentially a new house on an old foundation.
As the original flat roof was both unattractive and problematic in terms of thermal insulation and water infiltration, we added a main gable, clad it with Alaskan Yellow Cypress shingles, and redesigned the facades for symmetry. New custom fabricated windows, exterior trim and cedar clapboard finished the job.
